Skagit Valley Tulip Festival 2021

2018 Tulip Festival Parade in La Conner

The 32nd Annual Not So Impromptu Kiwanis Tulip Parade is Saturday, April 14th, 2018 starting at 2:00!

Driving by the endless farm fields in late February and early March you can see the green shoots of soon-to-be daffodils. Locals might know all too well the early mornings being stuck behind a huge green tractor. Those five foot tall thick wheels fling clumps of Skagit mud onto the road. Looking over the farms, you can see a seemingly endless field flushed with colors. Sitting under the haze of morning fog, the soft innocent petals slowly open. First the daffodils in March and then the tulips in April.  Just this sight alone is breathtaking.

Having grown up in La Conner, I know the attention that these tulips bring on. Well if you come for the tulips, you have to come for the Tulip Festival parade. The parade is a celebration for all ages, bringing together people from all over to watch and experience this truly unique, wacky parade!

The Tulip Festival parade is a must-go-to event that my high school friends and I still enjoy going to. Mostly dominated by families, the tulip festival parade never fails to bring the community together. “The La Conner Tulip Festival Parade is a super fun relaxed parade, with lots of local businesses and kids,” says Parker Rivas, a local high school student.

The official name of the Tulip Festival parade is the 32nd Annual Not-So-Impromputu Kiwanis Tulip Parade! Proudly sponsored by US bank, this totally unique parade brings together people and families from all over and is an annual tradition for many families.

From bands on wheels to mini donkeys, this parade welcomes all. Walk through the heart of la Conner to witness the ever changing lineup or become a part of this tradition yourself! Starting on 3rd street in the Port of Skagit – La Conner Marina area, bring your tulip parade entry and form to join the fun. Entry forms available at Skagit County US Bank branches and here.  No entry is too small!

Parade check-in/registration is at 12:30 (go right on 3rd, go past Dunlap Way and turn left in parking lot and watch for signs), parade staging is at 1:30 with the parade starting at 2:00 working its way through downtown La Conner.
