La Conner Weekly News has a new website, including full versions of news stories and the 2012 La Conner Visitor’s Guide; in coming weeks they will start offering specials so that advertisers can include online advertising as well as traditional print advertising.

New La Conner Visitor’s Guide a hit!

La Conner Weekly News checked with Certified Folder distributing on Wednesday to see how the inaugural edition of the “La Conner …Relax. Enjoy. Explore” visitor’s guide is being received.
The Good news: They’re flying off Certified’s racks; about 24,000 a month.
The Bad news: They’re half gone and the guide has only been out a little over 2 months. We expected them to last a year, or at least through the summer!
We are gearing up to produce next year’s guide. Advertising prices will not rise. But we hope more businesses will participate so that we can print more than 100,000 guides and expand the distribution range. Presently the La Conner guide is on the ferries, at SeaTac and on the 1-5 corridor to the Canadian Border. We’d like include 1-5 south of Seattle and Eastern Washington next year.
A note from Sarah Nelson, La Conner Channel Lodge:
May was an extremely successful month bringing in more visitors than the last few years. We had the pleasure of hosting the North Cascade Corvairs Car Club, which brought in folks from neighboring states, many of whom have not been here before. We also hosted NAIFA at Maple Hall bringing in 80 attendees and some of their families as well; and we are looking forward to hosting the Cascade Classic Car Rally the 2nd week of June. We will continue to try and bring in more conventions that benefit everyone in town; a special thank you to all that continue to provide excellent customer service to all of our visitors to La Conner!
