Holiday Getaway in La Conner – 2013!

2013_la_conner_holiday_celebrationsWe love the holidays in La Conner! It’s chilly out and time for warm clothes, gloves and hats, the water is beautiful with colorful reflected lights, and our tiny little town becomes a pretty magical place.  Plan your holiday getaway today!

For us, the holidays really start at Thanksgiving, and our annual Turkey Trot fun run. It’s a great way to burn calories BEFORE you eat your Thanksgiving dinner … and a great way to have some fun before football games and pumpkin pie. Start a new family tradition with a holiday getaway and join us on Thanksgiving morning!

Once Thanksgiving is over, we always have a wide variety of holiday options for you. From shopping for one-of-a-kind gifts (wave ‘bye’ to the big box stores!), to a great lunch or dinner and cocoa nightcap, to a romantic weekend, you’ll find La Conner a perfect place to hang out.

As December arrives, we invite you to our annual Holiday Saturday in La Conner; this year it’s on December 7th. It starts with breakfast with Santa, and then moves on to our community Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony later in the afternoon (Santa arrives on an antique fire truck, with a bag full of his magic elf dust which, when sprinkled in the air lights our tree!). It’s an entire day full of fun for the whole family – bring your kids, bring your grand kids, and be sure to bring your camera! And on December 14th, the Swinomish Channel is aglow with gorgeously reflected colors as our  lighted boat parade adds another fun even to holidays in La Conner. Be sure to check out our online calendar for details – we’ve just given you the highlights here.

There are lots more fun things to do in La Conner this holiday season – check out our online calendar for a month’s worth of holiday fun and holiday getaway ideas! And check back often, as many events and festivities are added as we get closer to December … you might find something that is a perfect fit for your visit to La Conner.

Ready to spend the holidays in La Conner? We hope so – we’ll look forward to seeing you for your holiday getaway 2013!
