La Conner is the kind of town where you can walk from the old-time tavern to the cool restaurant featuring live music to top reviewed foodie spots and then to our very own brewery all in a two blocks. You can choose to walk the sidewalk or the boardwalk with Salish Sea waters softly rolling over the shoreline rocks below. What better place for a beer festival! The 3rd Annual Brew on the Slough 2017 is happening on Saturday, October 21st.
La Conner is also part of the Salish Coast region where Skagit Valley Malting is making malt from grains sourced in the Valley. Malt is to beer what grapes are to wine and introducing new and existing varietals heighten flavor and creates unique terroir. Or how they sum it up – Taste the Place.
We invite you to La Conner and the Skagit Valley to taste some awesome beer, and also to experience the beauty of the Valley where our soils are rated in the top 2% in the world and the climate here is unique to North America. We have the marine influence, long dry days during harvest but no drought stress during the majority of the growing season. The latitude and the ocean allow us the benefit of cool nights and moderate heat during the days as well as mild winters allowing many good winter barley and wheat varieties to grow here. This all means beer is only going to get better!
