Mom’s Museum Weekend

Day 1
Arrive late in the afternoon, get settled into your Inn, Hotel or Bed and Breakfast, then head out for a late afternoon wander around La Conner to get your bearings – our volunteers at the Visitor Center / Chamber of Commerce office on Morris Street can give you a town map. While you’re there, also pick up the brochures for La Conner’s three museums: La Conner Quilt and Textile Museum, Museum of Northwest Art, and Skagit County Historical Museum.

If you’re interested in historical architecture, you might put on your walking shoes and discover La Conner’s grand old homes; many have been lovingly restored and are absolutely photo-worthy. You’ll find them on the hill, and on the north side of La Conner in the neighborhoods behind Morris Street. While you’re out and about, take note of the restaurants that look like good options to you … you’ll have time for several meals while you’re in La Conner.

Day 2
Have breakfast in-house, or set out for a hearty breakfast in town, and plan your Museum Day. All 3 museums are in town and easily accessible, whether you plan to drive or walk to them. You’ll find the current exhibits listed in on La Conner’s online calendar (look on the lower left side of the page for the Ongoing Museum & Gallery Exhibits list) – you can also check with the museums to see if they have any new or special exhibits while you’re in town.
