Skagit Valley Tulip Festival: La Conner + Tulips = An Amazing Getaway!
While the annual Skagit Valley Tulip Festival is Skagit Valley-wide, at the La Conner Visitor Information Center we field calls all year long about the ‘La Conner tulips’. It must be because we celebrate our spring-flowering bulb heritage in a big, big way!
It all starts in March when the fields just outside La Conner burst into fabulous yellow brilliance and the annual daffodil season begins. As the gentle breezes blow these stems of happiness to and fro, we can feel winter slipping away and spring smiling down on us. Daffodils mean it’s time to put away the winter coats and boots, dust off the bikes and running shoes, and pull out the sunglasses!
Once the daffodils have had their spring fun, it’s time for tulips. Rather, it’s time for TULIPS! Hundreds of thousands of tulips that turn our fields into a stunning rainbow of colors. Whether this is your first visit during the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, or you’ve been visiting us for years, the opportunity to experience our tulip fields and display gardens up-close is something you’ll never forget. Be sure to bring your camera!
Because of our location, we’re the perfect place for your Skagit Valley Tulip Festival home-base while you explore all the beauty that comes with fields of flowers set against a backdrop of Mount Baker and the Skagit Valley. Whether you plan to stay a day or several days – La Conner’s lodging, shopping and restaurant options offer something for every flower lover.
And don’t miss our annual Not-So-Impromptu Tulip Parade – which is a fun and wacky parade full of farm animals, clowns, bands, mascots old cars, locals in costume, floats, and all sorts of pets.
