Who we Serve: We are a very active Chamber and involved in many areas of our community, including tourism and community events, business support, and marketing La Conner and the Skagit Valley. We enjoy a successful partnership with the 5 other chambers in Skagit Valley; the Executive Directors meet monthly to better promote our entire county.
We have a strong and supportive membership of approximately 150, representing retail, restaurant & lodging, service & professional and non-profit organizations, as well as local and governmental agencies. We come from a wide variety of backgrounds and geographic locations as well, which makes us a very fun, interesting and engaging group of professionals.
Because our mission is to promote La Conner, while still preserving our uniqueness and charm, we sponsor several successful tourism & promotion and community events, including the Daffodil Festival, Classic Boat & Car Show, Hometown 4th of July and holiday events.
Marketing La Conner is a multi-tiered Chamber effort; we maximize the use of print media, video and radio whenever possible, and work hard to maintain a consistent and engaging presence both online and via social media. It’s exciting to see our membership beginning to embrace social media as a low-cost and/or no-cost way for them to promote their business, and for us to be able to help expand their reach through our two Chamber Facebook pages and our Twitter presence. The chamber offers various educational workshops throughout the year on different subjects; social media, customer service, Quickbooks, etc.
Our Chamber office shares space with, and manages, the La Conner Visitor Information Center – our staff and volunteers are truly the heart and soul of many visitors’ “first impression” of La Conner. They are knowledgeable about our community and our region and take great pleasure in meeting the public and providing resources and suggestions whenever possible. In any given year, we receive more than 5,000 visitor calls, 11,000 walk-in visitors, and more than 230,000 website visitors … we are a very busy Chamber and Visitors Center!
