Did you know that La Conner is a terrific place to find boat moorage north of Seattle? For boaters who would rather spend their time boating in the San Juan Islands, rather than boating the miles and miles from Seattle to the San Juan Islands, La Conner’s 300-slip marina is a fabulous option.

la_conner_marina_moorage_north_of_seattleThe Marina features two separate moorage basins, which together cover approximately 24 acres. There are 366 covered moorage slips, 131 open moorage slips plus 2,400 lineal feet of dock space for overnight moorage, along with 140 dry boat berths.

Mooring your boat in La Conner offers a much easier way to navigate to the San Juan Islands – you can either go north out of the Swinomish Channel and then west through Guemes Channel and across the north end of Rosario Strait, or you can go south out of the channel, north into Skagit Bay and then through Deception Pass and across the southern end of Rosario Strait. Either way, you’ll often find fewer challenges from fog and rough waters than you’ll encounter while crossing the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
