Skagit River Poetry Festival – 11th Biennial

To support lifelong literacy and cultural diversity through the writing, reading, performing, and teaching of poetry in Northwest Washington schools and global communities,  Join Terrance Hayes, Javier Zamora, Ray Young Bear & 25 other remarkable poets for the Skagit River Poetry Festival at Maple Hall in La Conner, October 6-8, 2022.

The 11th Biennial Skagit River Festival opens Thursday night at 5:30 with a Patron & Poet Soiree. Festival poets and guests enjoy locally sourced hearty appetizers.

The Thursday evening reading, 8-9:30 PM: Welcome to Indian Country: A Reading to celebrate our First Nation Roots with Rena Priest, Sasha LaPointe & Ray Young Bear, Music & Blessing with Kevin Paul & Katherine Paul, Black Belt Eagle Scout. American living treasure, Ray Young Bear, Washington State Poet Laureate, Rena Priest & returning home, poet Sasha taqwšəblu LaPointe. Jane Hirshfield will join us for the Saturday sessions.

The all-festival ticket includes ALL public events Thursday-Saturday but excludes the Students Only sessions, Friday 9-2 PM.
