La Conner Birding Festival Returns January 24–25, 2026 Celebrating Winter Wildlife and Community
Birders, nature lovers, and curious explorers are invited to experience the
beauty of Skagit Valley’s winter wildlife at the La Conner Birding Festival, returning Saturday
and Sunday, January 24–25th, 2026. Hosted in the heart of La Conner, this annual event
celebrates the region’s extraordinary bird populations while supporting local businesses and
conservation efforts.
Timed to coincide with winter migration, the festival offers a full weekend of guided bird walks,
expert-led talks, and educational programming suitable for birders of all levels — from seasoned
enthusiasts to families and first-time visitors. Participants can expect opportunities to spot bald
eagles, snow geese, swans, shorebirds, and a wide variety of waterfowl that make the Skagit
Valley a world-renowned birding destination.
Festival programming will include early-morning and afternoon field trips led by knowledgeable
guides, indoor presentations from regional birding experts, and community gatherings that
showcase La Conner’s welcoming small-town charm. Local restaurants, shops, and lodging
partners will also take part, creating a weekend that blends nature, learning, and local flavor.
“The La Conner Birding Festival is about more than birds — it’s about connecting people to
place,” said festival organizers. “Winter is one of the most spectacular times to experience the
Skagit Valley, and we’re excited to welcome visitors to learn, explore, and enjoy everything our
community has to offer.”
The festival is open to the public, with select activities requiring advance registration. A full
schedule of events, registration details, and lodging information is available through the La
Conner Chamber of Commerce.
