Looking for a wonderful way to spend a Sunday in La Conner? La Conner Live is a non-profit that puts on a 15 week free outdoor summer concert series that plays every Sunday from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. The concerts are held in Gilkey Square from 1 to 4 pm. There are picnic tables to accommodate a family or group to have a meal while enjoying the music. There are 4 local restaurants less than a block away from BBQ to fine cuisine for takeout. Skagit Cellars has a wine bar lining the Square for outdoor tasting. We encourage bringing your own outdoor chair for listening comfort. Come and experience quality music, food, and wine all under sunny skies on the Swinomish Channel!
We have two concerts remaining. Sunday August 26th featuring “The Walrus” playing classic rock and R&B Sept.2nd featuring Mary Ellen Lykins and the CC Adams band, playing blues, rock , and rhythm. Mary Ellen has been compared too Janice Joplin, Shemekia Copeland, and Etta James’ bold, sultry vocals.
La Conner Live also puts on the La Conner Art Walk on the first Saturday of the month, June through October. Our next Art Walk is September 1st from 11 am to 7 pm. There is a new pop- up gallery located at 623 Morris St. in the Tillinghast Seeds Complex. September the featured artists in the pop-up are Craig Barber and Jane Alynn, two of Skagit Valley’s renowned fine art photographers that bring a unique artistry to their craft.
There are 15 La Conner merchants, galleries, and restaurants that are 2018 Art Walk members. The Art Walk members on First St. are Forum Arts, Amaryllis, The Wood Merchant, Anelia’s Kitchen and Stage, La Conner Sips, MoNA, Razzle Dazzle Gifts, That’s Knot All Artist Co-op, Blackfish Gallery, and Fine Feathered Friends.
