Old Fashion 4th of July in La Conner – 2015

Fireworks will light up the sky and music will fill the air as the Town of La Conner and the Port of Skagit combine forces to celebrate the Fourth of July 2015 the old-fashioned way.

Highlights of the day will be a FREE outdoor concert at the La Conner Marina, followed after dark by a fireworks display over the Swinomish Channel. The concert features nationally renowned electric six-string violinist Geoffrey Castle with his all-star band, and opening the show will be La Conner’s own Terry Nelson and Friends.   The evening concert at the marina is from 6 to 10 p.m.  There will be food vendors and a beer/wine garden at the concert starting at 5 p.m. with music starting at 6 p.m.

A children’s parade, hot dogs, three-legged races, and a watermelon contest start the day’s festivities. Browse the town’s eclectic array of specialty shops, museums and galleries during the day. Enjoy the outstanding local cuisine offered by its fine dining restaurants and sample the local brewery and wineries. The parade starts at 12 noon, with a community picnic and children’s events following at Pioneer Park.

Bring your family to scenic Skagit County and spend the day or the weekend in historic La Conner enjoying Independence Day. Drive in for the day or stay the weekend at one of La Conner’s charming lodging options. Or cruise in on your boat and moor at the Port of Skagit’s premier destination La Conner Marina. But however you get here, come prepared to have fun.
