Skagit Valley Tulip Festival – La Conner’s Not-So-Impromptu Parade

Skagit Valley Tulip Festival Fun & Wacky Side

Will you be one of the hundreds of thousands of people will visit the Skagit Valley this April for Skagit Valley Tulip Festival ? We hope so – as one of Washington State’s most popular destination events, and a much-loved month for getaway vacations to La Conner, you’ll be treated to acres and acres of brightly colored tulips, display gardens that are simply stunning, and photo opportunities around every corner. In 2014 alone, the festival greeted visitors from nearly all 50 states and from 53 foreign countries!

Skagit Valley Tulip Festival ParadeOne of the reasons so many people love La Conner during Tulip Festival is that we have events like the annual Not-So-Impromptu Tulip Parade! You’ll see the wacky side of La Conner – the funny and whimsical side of folks who live here, visit here, and just plain want a place to have a whole bunch of fun celebrating all things Tulip and all things Spring.

2nd Saturday of April – The  festivities start at 10am with the Tulip Frolic, Gilkey Square will be filled with activities & entertainment for young and old. The 28th Annual Kiwanis Not-So-Impromptu parade starts at 2pm for and runs along Morris and First Streets.  This year will be the first year of the official La Conner Daffodil Festival in March, and the parade will feature the King and Queen of the Daffodils!

All entries are welcome to participate in the parade and it is FREE! This is an absolute hoot of a parade – bring your lawn chairs (and maybe a jacket if it’s chilly outside) and join in our hilarity of farm animals, clowns, bands, mascots and your favorite pets.
