YULE BLOG! La Conner – Your One-Stop Holiday Season Destination

Happy Holidays #LoveLaConner

How are you going to get into the holiday spirit this year?  How about starting off the holidays with this Holiday Season itinerary!  Begin with wreath-making at Christianson’s, followed by the Jingle Belles shopping event in La Conner, and wrap it up with the Lighted Boat Parade!

Located in the middle of the beautiful farmlands surrounding La Conner, Christianson’s Nursery offers a poetic venue for getting into the holiday spirit.  Whether you pre-register for one of the holiday events or choose to meander peacefully outside, taking in the old schoolhouse and saying hello to the animals, be sure to make time for Christianson’s on your La Conner Holiday Season itinerary!

DIY Holiday Wreath-Making at Christianson’s Nursery

Want to create a wreath at your convenience? Pre-register to use Christianson’s machines for Do-It-Yourself wreath-making beginning on Monday, November 16 to December 24. Up to 5 people may pre-register together.

Bring your own or select from a stunning array of seasonal greens and berries (sold by the pound) at the Nursery. Wear warm clothing and bring your own pruners and gardening gloves.  To pre-register, contact the Garden Store at 360-466-3821.

A Visit with Father Christmas

A Christianson’s Nursery tradition continues on Saturday, November 28 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.  Father Christmas greets children of all ages and listens to their Christmas wishes whilst standing beside our antique red clipper sleigh nestled in a woodland setting in the warm Front Greenhouse from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Watch for the joy in children’s eyes as they visit face-to-face with Father Christmas!  Pre-register for a 15-minute visit by calling the Garden Store 360-466-3821.

Visit the Animals

Did you know that they have all sorts of animals to see while essential shopping at Christianson’s Nursery?  Bring a picnic lunch to the Schoolhouse’s Rose Garden while the sun is still shining brightly and chart your course to visit the family of animals.

You have most likely been introduced to the striped cat Paw-Paw during check out since he tends to hover around the counter in hopes for a treat and some love, or you may have been pleasantly surprised by the beauty of Amber, whose jet black fur and intense amber-colored eyes light up a blind corner. As you meander through the greenhouses, stop by the Propagation House to see pairs of African Ring Neck doves housed in oversized antique aviaries.

Watch your step! They have an overabundance of frogs this year who insist on jumping in, on, and around the rose and perennial bed plants. They like to leap out of the pathway when they feel people coming. Towards the south lot of the Nursery, the flock of free-range Rhode Island Red chickens exists happily next to the larger farm animals, Rosie the Llama, and the dwarf goats named after Goddesses, Iris, Athena, and Freya.
